White Oat Molasses Bread

    For a change from using the bread machine just use the dough cycle, take the dough out when done and let it rise on more time. I then bake it in the oven at 175 degrees C for about 28 minutes.

    Serves: 12 

    • 1 (7g) packet active dry yeast
    • 1 cup (150g) quick cooking oats
    • 3 cups (375g) bread flour
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 cup (125ml) molasses
    • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
    • 1 1/3 cups (330ml) water
    • 1/4 cup honey

    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:3hours  ›  Ready in:3hours5min 

    1. Place ingredients in the pan of the bread machine in the order suggested by the manufacturer.
    2. Select White Bread setting, and Start.

    Yummy bread recipe! I didn't have quick cooking oats, so I used the old fashioned. Let the bread machine do the work thru the 2nd rise, then took out and made into dinner rolls. Baked 21 minutes at 375 degrees. My family loved them!  -  26 Nov 2002  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)
