Frankfurt Noodles

    20 minutes

This is a very simple meal I first had as a kid. It's just buttered egg noodles with parsley, parmesan cheese and frankfurts. To this day I still eat it and I guarantee that your kids will love it too.

    Serves: 2

    • 4 frankfurts, cut into 1cm pieces
    • 250g broad egg noodles
    • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
    • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
    • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

    1. Bring a large pot of lightly-salted water to a boil; add the pasta and cook until al dente, about 5 minutes; drain.
    2. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in a frypan. Cook the frankfurt pieces in the butter until browned. Add to the drained noodles with 2 tablespoons butter, parsley and Parmesan cheese; stir until butter is melted and the frankfurts are coated.

A little bland. Next time I will add some garlic powder and maybe some red pepper flakes to kick it up. But the idea is great.  -  25 Sep 2010  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)

This is big with my kids, as it was with me when I was little. Mom always added garlic powder and pepper and more butter. Sometimes, even red pepper flakes. Also works with whatever meat ends you have on hand, like spam or bacon. Most comforting for big and little kids alike.  -  14 Mar 2009  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)
