This is a delicious spread that goes well on toasted bread as a party snack. You could also use smoked salmon if you can't find mackerel.


Serves: 12 

  • 500g smoked mackerel
  • 125g cream cheese
  • 125g softened butter
  • 1 lemon, juiced

Preparation:20min  ›  Extra time:2hours chilling  ›  Ready in:2hours20min 

  1. Remove any skin and bones from the mackerel and place into the bowl of a food processor. Pulse until no large pieces remain.
  2. Add the cream cheese, butter and lemon juice; process until smooth. Place into a small serving bowl and refrigerate until firm, about 2 hours.
