Smarties Biscuits
A little different from chocolate chip biscuits, these are sure to be a favourite with everyone! They're moist, chewy and have a great taste.
Ingredients

- 250g butter
- 1 cup (185g) packed brown sugar
- 1 cup (220g) white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 teaspoon coffee flavoured liqueur
- 2 1/2 cups (375g) rolled oats
- 2 cups (250g) plain flour
- 1 teaspoon bicarb soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups Smarties

- Preheat the oven to 190 degrees C. Grease baking trays.
- In a large bowl cream the butter and the sugars using an electric mixer. Mix in the eggs, vanilla and coffee flavoured liqueur.
- Measure the oats and blend in a blender to a fine powder. In a separate bowl mix together the flour, oats, baking powder, bicarb soda and salt. Stir the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until blended, then stir in the Smarties. Roll into balls and place 5cm apart on baking trays.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven until the edges start to turn golden.

I used minute oats and didn't blend them and I made 48 biscuits. - 27 Dec 2016

These cookies were GREAT! They do, however, come out pretty flat and stuck to the cookie sheet... remove them quickly. I also suggest adding a few M&M's on the top of the cookies. - 15 Nov 2000 (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)
