Very Chocolatey Choc Chip Biscuits
Chocolate chip biscuits are all about the chocolate, aren't they? This recipe has an extra large dose of chocolate chips for those who want to cut to the chase.
Ingredients
Makes: 48 biscuits
- 125g margarine
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 1 1/8 cups plain flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon bicarb soda
- 1 1/4 cups dark chocolate chips

- Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
- In a mixing bowl, cream margarine and sugars. Add beaten egg and vanilla, mix well. Sift flour, bicarb soda and salt together. Stir into creamed mixture; blend thoroughly. Fold in chocolate chips.
- Drop by teaspoon onto baking trays. Bake in oven for 6-9 minutes, depending on size. Do not overbake. Biscuits should be a little brown around the edges when taken out. Let biscuits cool for a few minutes before removing from baking tray. Finish cooling on rack.

This recipe is the ultimate chocolate chip recipe! It's better than your average bakery cookie and it completely satisfies a craving for chocolate with it's enormous amount of chocolate chips. This was the first item I ever made and learned in junior high school (back in 1972). It is much better if you use butter crisco, use whole chuck chips, some whole nuts, and you must sift!
