Peppery turnips make a nice alternative to potatoes for mashed vegetables. If desired, you can substitute potatoes for half the turnips.
225ml milk (or as needed)
salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Peel, wash and quarter turnips. Boil 35 to 45 minutes or until tender. Strain and rinse cooked turnips.
- Place in large mixing bowl and use fork to break up turnips into smaller bits. Add milk and butter. Mash till creamy. Add salt and pepper to taste.
