Mango Pawpaw Salsa

A colourful fruity salsa to serve with chicken or fish. This version has no chilli so you may want to add half a chopped chilli. Great on a warm summer day.


Serves: 8 

  • 1 mango, peeled and diced
  • 1 pawpaw, peeled, seeds removed and diced
  • 1 large red capsicum, seeded and diced
  • 1 avocado, peeled, stone removed and diced
  • 1/2 red onion, peeled and finely diced
  • handful chopped fresh coriander
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • salt and freshly pepper, to taste

Preparation:15min  ›  Extra time:30min pickling  ›  Ready in:45min 

  1. In a medium bowl, mix mango, pawpaw, red capsicum, avocado, red onion, coriander and balsamic vinegar. Season with salt and pepper. Cover, and let sit at least 30 minutes before serving.


Salsa literally means "sauce" and is a blend of diced fruit and vegetables with spices.

Used different ingredients. FANTASTIC! I LOVE this recipe! (I added tomato too & sautéed the majority of the onion) My husband and my 3 year old both couldn't get enough. We served this over 1 1/2 lb salmon the first night. Ate it on crackers with cream cheese as suggested by another user (mmmmm sooooo good!) for lunch the next day and finished it off on top of the Pico de Gallo Chicken Quesadillas from this site for dinner. Used different ingredients. I didnt have mango or red capsicumand used spring onions instead of sweet and used dried coriander. I added a squeeze of lime. This was delicious with fish. - 29 Sep 2008
