This is a great coconut and pecan icing for any kind of cake. It goes very well with German chocolate cake. Very easy to make as well.


Serves: 12 

  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup (185g) brown sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 125g butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 1/3 cups shredded coconut

Preparation:20min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:30min 

  1. In a large saucepan combine evaporated milk, brown sugar, egg yolks, butter and vanilla. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until thick. Remove from heat and stir in pecans and coconut. Let cool to room temperature before spreading on cake.
