Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookies
Extra special chocolate chip cookies which have walnuts and Smarties added. You could also use pecans, macadamias or chopped almonds if you prefer.
Ingredients
Makes: 36 cookies
- 2 1/2 cups plain flour
- 1 teaspoon bicarb soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- pinch cinnamon
- 125g butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
- 2 teaspoons honey
- 2/3 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1/3 cup Smarties(TM)
- 1/4 cup walnuts, diced

- Preheat oven to 150 degrees C. Sift together the flour, bicarb soda, salt and cinnamon, set aside.
- In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar and white sugar. Beat in the eggs, vanilla and honey. Stir in the dry ingredients then fold in the chocolate chips, Smarties and nuts. Drop dough by teaspoons onto an unprepared baking tray.
- Bake for 15 to 18 minutes in the preheated oven, until the cookies are golden around the edges. Remove from the baking tray to cool on wire racks.

This didn't even deserve a "1" star rating. I just tried to make these cookies, and they came out terrible! I found this recipe to fit my needs pretty well. Even though I didn't have enough vanilla (used about 1/4 teaspoon), they were delicious. Crisp bottom, chewy top. I didn't use the peanut butter chips or the walnuts, because I was baking for a picky couple of guys! A note - I used a cookie scoop for these. The first batch came out with the weird marks on the top from the scoop's wiper, and they stuck slightly to my baking sheet.
