This is a very simple to cake to make, perfect for baking with kids. It is also egg-free and dairy-free and the ingredients are inexpensive.
Excellent cake, it is now my go to cake. I have made it thrice now and it turned out brilliant. I do mix in a bowl then pour into a lined tin as the first time it stuck to the bottom. I find that it does not cook as quick as the recipe states and that after about 40 min I need to cover the top with tinfoil to stop it burning. It keeps well, I made three (turned out I only needed one and a half for the decorated cake) for a birthday and it was still just as tasty an moist a week later. - 23 Jun 2013
