This macaroni and tuna salad is great alone or in a sandwich or on a muffin, even better with a bit of cheese on top and grilled.


Serves: 6 

  • 375g macaroni
  • 3 tomatoes, peeled, seeded and diced
  • 3 stalks celery, diced
  • 1 (375g) tin tuna
  • 1 1/2 cups (375ml) light mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Italian style salad dressing
  • 1 tablespoon white sugar
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper, to taste

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Extra time:1hour chilling  ›  Ready in:1hour30min 

  1. In a large saucepan of salted boiling water cook pasta until al dente then rinse under cold water and drain.
  2. In a large bowl combine the pasta, tomatoes, celery and tuna.
  3. Prepare the dressing by whisking together the mayonnaise, salad dressing, sugar and pepper. Add to pasta salad then mix together and refrigerate for 1 hour.

I made this recipe this morning for a lunch party, was absolutely excellent, instead of the tomato and Italian dressing i used two 95g cans of lunch tuna which was Italian and tomato flavored, made it heaps easier. Also used a little less mayo because the canned tuna was so 'saucy' Thanks for a great recipe - 06 Oct 2011
