    This is a pleasant change from the usual cheese ball that contains chocolate chips and is rolled in pecans. Serve with biscuits or chocolate wafers.

    Serves: 32 

    • 250g cream cheese, softened
    • 125g butter, softened
    • 3/4 cup (125g) icing sugar
    • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
    • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla essence
    • 3/4 cup small dark chocolate chips
    • 3/4 cup finely diced pecans

    1. In a medium bowl beat together cream cheese and butter until smooth.
    2. Mix in icing sugar, brown sugar and vanilla. Stir in chocolate chips.
    3. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
    4. Shape chilled cream cheese mixture into a ball. Wrap with plastic and chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
    5. Roll the cheese ball in finely diced pecans before serving.
