Chocolate and Peanut Butter Bars

A biscuit like base is cooked then a topping combing peanut butter and chocolate is added. Cool then cut into your preferred serving size.

Serves: 30 

  • 170g butter
  • 1 cup (155g) brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cup (125ml) light golden syrup
  • 4 cups quick cooking oats
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 2/3 cup crunchy peanut butter

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Lightly grease a 22x32cm cake tin.
  2. In a large mixing bowl cream the butter and sugar together.
  3. Mix in the vanilla, golden syrup and oats.
  4. Pat this dough into the greased tin. Bake for 15-16 minutes (don't over bake).
  5. Meanwhile over low heat melt together the chocolate chips and peanut butter.
  6. Allow the base to cool slightly then spread the chocolate peanut butter mixture on top. Cool completely and cut into bars.
