Red Wine Braised Pork Tenderloin

This pork requires very little attention, simple add the ingredients to the baking dish, cook for 45 minutes, remove the pork and thicken the juices with gravy powder.


Serves: 4 

  • 1kg pork tenderloin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 stalk celery, diced
  • 2 cups (500ml) red wine
  • 1 tablespoon gravy powder, e.g. gravox

Preparation:45min  ›  Cook:45min  ›  Ready in:1hour30min 

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
  2. Place pork in a 20x30cm baking dish and sprinkle meat with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Top with onion and celery then pour wine over all.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  4. When done baking, remove meat from baking dish and place on a serving platter. Pour gravy powder into baking dish containing the wine and cooking juices then stir until thickened.
  5. Slice meat and serve with the gravy.
