Beer, teriyaki sauce and brown sugar combine to create a wonderful marinade that I use on barbecued beef sirloin steaks.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 4

    • 2 (500g) beef sirloin steaks
    • 1/4 cup dark beer
    • 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
    • 1-2 tablespoons brown sugar (to taste)
    • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

    Directions
    Preparation:30min  ›  Cook:15min  ›  Extra time:25min marinating  ›  Ready in:1hour10min

    1. Preheat barbecue for high heat.
    2. Use a fork to poke holes all over the surface of the steaks and place steaks in a large baking dish.
    3. In a bowl mix together beer, teriyaki sauce and brown sugar. Pour sauce over steaks and let sit about 5 minutes. Sprinkle with 1/2 the seasoned salt, pepper and garlic powder; set aside for 10 minutes. Turn steaks over, sprinkle with remaining seasoned salt, pepper and garlic powder then continue marinating for 10 more minutes.
    4. Remove steaks from marinade. Pour marinade into a small saucepan bring to a boil and cook for several minutes.
    5. Lightly oil the barbecue grate. Barbecue steaks for 7 minutes per side or until cooked to your liking. During the last few minutes of cooking baste steaks with boiled marinade to enhance the flavour and ensure juiciness.

Okay marinade. Not bad, not great! My 4 wheeling group gave this a 6 out of 10. Sorry, probably won't make it into the rotation.  -  03 Feb 2010  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)

I actually made this from a Sandra Lee recipe on food network....just about the same recipe. I used 1/2 c. beer, 1/4 c. teryaki, 1/4 c. brown sugar and 2 tablespoons of Mccormick Montreal steak grill seasoning. Marinated a small skirt steak and a small flank for 24 hours. Grilled and the family inhaled....what a very tasty marinade. Will definately make again.  -  07 May 2007  (Review from Allrecipes USA and Canada)
