Barbecue Tofu Rolls

This is a quick and tasty vegan/vegetarian lunch. Tofu and onions cooked toegther I like to use my own homemade barbecue sauce and if I have time make my own rolls too.


Serves: 6 

  • 375g firm tofu
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce
  • 6 hamburger buns

  1. Drain the tofu on paper towels until most of the water has been squeezed out.
  2. Slice tofu into 1/2cm thick slices.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large frypan, fry tofu slabs until golden brown on both sides.
  4. Add onion and cook for a few minutes, then pour barbecue sauce into the pan using more or less according to your taste. Cook the mixture for ten minutes on low and serve on buns.
