Aniseed Biscuits (Dairy Free)

If you are looking for a dairy free biscuit that is a little different this is the one for you. Aniseed is the primary flavour in these easy to prepare biscuits.


Serves: 25 

  • 1/2 cup (125g) caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup (125g) plain flour
  • 2 teaspoons aniseed powder
  • 1 pinch bicarbonate of soda

  1. Whisk sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.
  2. Mix together flour, aniseed and bicarbonate of soda then gradually fold into egg mixture.
  3. Grease a baking tray liberally and drop heaped teaspoons onto it. Let dry overnight, uncovered.
  4. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
  5. Bake in preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
  6. Let cool on tray for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool fully. Store in an airtight biscuit tin.

Aniseed powder

If your local supermarket doesn't stock aniseed powder you can find it in Asian speciality shops or online.
