    Chocolate Chilli Truffles

    This is a slight variation on a simple truffle recipe with the addition of chilli. They are an acquired taste, so if you like them hot you had better warn those you are sharing them with.

    Serves: 20 

    • 500g dark chocolate
    • 80ml cream
    • 1 teaspoon chilli powder or to taste
    • 40g butter

    Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:5min  ›  Extra time:6hours curing  ›  Ready in:6hours20min 

    1. Dice coarsely 2/3 of the dark chocolate.
    2. Bring the cream and chilli powder to the boil. Add dark chocolate then melt while stirring to a smooth mixture. Add butter and stir again.
    3. Pour the mixture into a buttered rectangular baking dish; leave to set completely.
    4. Remove the set chocolate from the dish and cut out desired shapes (simple shapes are best).
    5. Melt the remaining 1/3 dark chocolate and leave to cool again.
    6. Coat the cut out chocolates with the melted chocolate and let set.
