Lemon and Raspberry Iced Heart Biscuits

A simple heart shaped butter biscuit is iced half with a lemon icing and half with a raspberry icing. Ideal food gift of valentine's day.


Makes: 50 hearts, depending on size

  • Biscuits
  • 3 cups (375g) plain flour
  • 250g butter, at room temperature
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup (220g) caster sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups
  • Icing
  • 1 1/2 cups (250g) icing sugar
  • 1-2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1-2 tablespoons raspberry syrup

  1. Biscuits: Work all the biscuit ingredients into a smooth dough. Wrap and chill for 2 hours.
  2. Preheat oven to 200 degrees C. Grease baking trays.
  3. Roll dough out to 5mm thickness and cut out heart shapes. Transfer to baking trays and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool.
  4. Icing: Stir half of the icing sugar with the lemon juice until smooth and until you have a thick icing.
  5. Spread the icing over half of the hearts. Mix the remaining icing sugar with syrup and coat the other side of the hearts with it. Allow the icing to set.
