Sultana and Walnut Apples

    Low in fat these baked apples stuffed with sultanas and walnuts make a great healthy dessert option, serve with low fat vanilla yoghurt or thickened cream.

    Serves: 4 

    • 4 apples
    • 60g unsalted butter, softened
    • 2 tablespoons sultanas
    • 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
    • cinnamon sugar

    1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
    2. Mix butter, sultanas and walnuts together.
    3. Core apples with an apple corer. Stuff each apple with the sultana mixture.
    4. Place apples in a small baking dish.
    5. Bake in preheated oven for about 45-55 minutes until they feel soft. Still warm, sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.

    Cinnamon sugar

    Cinnamon sugar can be purchased at major supermarkets or you can make your own. Simply mix sugar with ground cinnamon using a 4:1 ratio.
