Coconut Balls (Nivvies)

    Quick and easy family favourite for picnics and Christmas. Kid friendly rum balls without the alcohol; you can also make this into a no-cook slice too if you want.

    Serves: 12 

    • 1 Packet Marie biscuits
    • 1 375g Tin condensed milk
    • 2 Tablespoons cocoa powder
    • 1 Cup (approx) coconut for rolling

    Preparation:15min  ›  Extra time:1hour chilling  ›  Ready in:1hour15min 

    1. Crush biscuits in food processor.
    2. Add cocoa powder and whizz for a few seconds until combined with biscuits.
    3. Turn biscuits into mixing bowl and add condensed milk. Mix until well combined.
    4. Roll mixture into small balls and coat with coconut. This is easier with two people (one rolling the balls and the other coating with coconut). Tip: To stop mixture sticking to your hands, run them under the tap for a few seconds, then roll.
    5. An alternative to making the balls is to lightly coat a slice tin with half of the coconut and press mixture into a slice. Coat with remaining coconut. A quick and easy slice if you're running short of time.


    Can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for a week or two (if they last that long).
