Left Over Sausage Rolls

    40 minutes

Easy peasy Sausage Roll. You can put pretty much anything inside. This is great for leftovers of sausages either cooked or raw from a previous night and a good way to hide healthy ingredients from kids or unsuspecting husbands.

    Serves: 1

    • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
    • 2 sausages
    • 2 cloves garlic
    • 1/4 cup pine nuts
    • 1 slice ham
    • 1/4 cup grated tasty cheese
    • spices (your choice) e.g. 1/4 teaspoon each oregano, basil and chilli flakes

    Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:35min  ›  Ready in:40min

    1. Preheat Oven to 180 degrees C.
    2. Peal the skin from the sausages (discard the skin). Put in mixing bowl or food processor if you're lazy like me.
    3. Add the garlic, pine nuts and spices; mix together ingredients.
    4. On a greased oven tray lay down sheet of pasty and spoon the sausage mix in a line approximately 3-4cm thick down the length of one side of the pastry sheet. Top with the ham slice and cheese.
    5. Roll the opposite side ontop of the ingredients (like a sausage roll should look). With the overlap you can use a little water on a brush or your finger to seal it together.
    6. With a knife score the surface of the pastry to aid with cooking. To aid the pastry browning, brush the top with a little milk.
    7. Bake for 30-35 minutes. Remove from oven once pastry is lightly brown.

    Serving suggestion

You can pretty much put anything in here, minced chicken, any spices or veges hidden. For a different taste try buying different sausages (Rosemary and Lamb etc).
