    This is a very basic egg flan that is rich and simple in flavours. Serve with fresh fruit and/or a coulis to provide a taste contrast.

    Ingredients
    Serves: 6 

    • 4 eggs
    • 1/3 cup (90g) caster sugar
    • 3/4 cup (90g) plain flour
    • 40g butter, melted
    • 2 cups (500ml) milk

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees C. Butter a baking dish.
    2. In a bowl, mix together eggs and sugar. Add the flour and melted butter then mix.
    3. Gradually stir in the cold milk to fully incorporate.
    4. Pour batter into the prepared baking dish and bake for 45 minutes.
