Stir Fried Prawns in a Tomato Sauce

This is a very quick and easy stir fried prawns that is combined with a tomato sauce. It can be served Asian style with rice or Italian with pasta.


Serves: 4 

  • 1 cup (250ml) fish stock
  • passata, to taste
  • salt, to taste
  • sugar, to taste
  • ground white pepper ,to taste
  • vegetable oil, as needed
  • 725g raw prawns, peeled, deveined and sliced in half horizontally
  • shaoxing wine, to taste
  • sesame oil, to taste

  1. Mix the stock with the passata, sugar and white pepper in a bowl to form the sauce.
  2. Heat some oil in a wok over high heat until very hot. Stir fry the prawns until the wok is almost dry.
  3. Add the shaoxing wine and sauce and stir.
  4. Continue to cook until the sauce is coating the prawns.
  5. Sprinkle with sesame oil. Transfer to a dish and serve.
