The French have always known how to do good potatoes but this gratin method is my favourite. I like to make this when having a roast chicken.
This is a really good recipe, but it needs a lot longer to bake than listed. It might just be my oven but it took about 1 1/2 hours to completely cook. Compensate for extra time. We had to eat at 8 pm. Ah well, it tasted delicious. - 10 Apr 2013 (Review from Allrecipes UK & Ireland)
After 25 minutes the top was nice and crispy and looked delicious. Although the potato was cooked, the watery milky liquid at the bottom of the dish looked rather unappetising. Overall, the dish tasted fine, but I would not cook this again. - 10 Dec 2013 (Review from Allrecipes UK & Ireland)
