  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon light soy sauce or 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 1-2 tablespoons cornflour mixed in 1 tablespoon water
  • 225g pork fillet, sliced
  • 1 head cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1 tablespoon groundnut oil
  • 6 dried shrimp, soaked
  • 2 cups (250ml) water

Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Extra time:15min marinating  ›  Ready in:45min

  1. Make the marinade by mixing together the sugar, salt, soy sauce and cornflour slurry. Mix in the pork, let marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Bring a large saucepan of water to the boil. Add the cauliflower and cook for 3 minutes or until tender. Drain and cool under a running cold tap. Set aside.
  3. Heat a wok with oil over high heat. Stir fry the pork until it is cooked through; about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the shrimp and stir fry until fragrant; 2-3 minutes. Stir in cauliflower florets.
  5. Add water and bring it to the boil. Cover the wok with a lid and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Add some salt to taste and serve hot.

Dried shrimp can be purchased in Asian speciality shops or online.
