Condensed milk is the main ingredient in these rich waffles. Serve with seasonal fruit and whipped cream.


Serves: 8 

  • 250g margarine
  • 4 cups (500g) plain flour
  • 6 eggs, separated
  • 1 1/4 cups (250g) caster sugar
  • 1 (400g) tin sweetened condensed milk

  1. Melt the margarine and cool.
  2. Mix together the flour, egg yolks, sugar and condensed milk in a bowl.
  3. Add the melted and cooled margarine; stir to mix.
  4. Whisk egg whites until stiff and gently fold into egg yolk mixture.
  5. Cook the batter in preheated waffle maker. Use only a small amount of the mixture to make mini waffles.
