Comte Cheese Omelette

Cheese and eggs are a perfect match. I prefer Comte but any semi-hard cow's milk cheese will work fine, such as Edam or Emmental.


Serves: 4 

  • 8 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon cold water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 100g grated Comté or Gruyere cheese

Preparation:5min  ›  Cook:5min  ›  Ready in:10min 

  1. Beat the eggs in a medium bowl with the water.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a frying pan on high heat. Stir in the egg mixture then reduce to medium heat. Cook for 5 minutes.
  3. When the omelette is cooked, add the grated cheese, cook for 5 more minutes or until the cheese melts completely. Serve immediately.
