Stir Fried Tofu and Cabbage Side Dish

    If dried tofu is not available, use pressed or fried in this delightful and light Chinese vegetable side dish. Perfect with a home made Chinese banquet!

    Serves: 3 

    • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
    • 100g dried tofu, cut into thick slices
    • 1 whole Chinese cabbage (wombok), leaves torn into bite-sized pieces
    • soy sauce to taste
    • 2 tomatoes, peeled and cut into small pieces
    • 1 spring onion, cut into 2cm lengths
    • salt to taste
    • sugar to taste
    • chicken stock powder to taste

    1. Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a frying pan or wok until hot. Add the tofu and brown on both sides. Stir in the cabbage and season with soy sauce to taste.
    2. Add the tomatoes and stir fry until the liquid is released. Stir in the spring onion and season with salt, sugar and chicken stock powder. Serve.
