Roast duck is delicious and available pre-cooked at Chinese specialty shops and supermarkets. This recipe is very easy to make for a quick lunch or dinner.


Serves: 2 

  • 200g dried egg noodles
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 2 spring onions, cut into 1.5cm lengths
  • 1 teaspoon finely chopped garlic
  • 5 leaves cabbage, cut into 1cm strips
  • 50g roast duck, cut into 3cm long strips
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon monosodium glutamate (MSG) (optional)

  1. Boil the noodles until al dente. Drain and rinse with cold water. Place into a large bowl with a little oil and toss. Set aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a large frying pan or wok over high heat. Stir-fry the ginger, spring onions and garlic until fragrant. Add the cabbage, duck and soy sauce and stir well.
  3. Stir in the cooked noodles and stir-fry for about 2 minutes. Season with salt and optional MSG. Transfer to a serving dish.
