Chicken liver in soy sauce comes from Malaysia where it is known as 'Hati Ayam Goreng Kicap. The liver is rubbed with turmeric, coriander and salt before being stir fried and the thick sweet soy known as kecap manis being added.


Serves: 4 

  • 250g chicken liver
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 pinch salt, to taste
  • 1 onion, sliced thickly
  • 1 red chilli, sliced
  • 2 tablespoon kecap manis
  • oil for cooking

  1. Rub chicken liver with turmeric, coriander and salt.
  2. Heat oil in frypan and saute the onions until soft. Add the liver and stir-fry for a few minutes.
  3. Add in the sliced chillies and sweet soy sauce and stir until the liver is cooked.
