Asian Barbecue Spareribs

    This is an easy recipe based on the traditional 'Char Siew' however this recipe uses pork ribs rather than pork shoulder.

    Serves: 6 

    • 2 kg pork spareribs cut into serving pieces
    • 1/2 cup (125ml) soy sauce
    • 60ml honey
    • shaoxing rice wine
    • 1 clove garlic, diced

    1. Place the ribs in a shallow baking tray meaty side down.
    2. Combine remaining ingredients to make a sauce then brush it over the ribs. Reserve the leftover sauce. Cover and marinate for 2 hours.
    3. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees C.
    4. Bake the ribs covered, for 45 minutes. Turn them over and brush with more sauce. Uncover and bake for another 30 minutes basting occasionally with sauce in the tray until the ribs are deep red and glossy.
