These Filipino prawns known as 'Camaron Rebosado' are marinated then coated in egg and flour before being deep fried.


Serves: 5 

  • 500g fresh large prawns
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper, to taste
  • 3 eggs, whisked
  • 1/2 cup (60g) flour

Preparation:25min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Extra time:30min marinating  ›  Ready in:1hour5min 

  1. Remove heads and shells from prawns, leaving tail intact. Devein shrimp by slicing the back to remove vein.
  2. Toss prawns in soy sauce, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Set aside for 30 minutes.
  3. Roll prawns in whisked eggs, dip in flour then deep fry in medium hot oil until brown. Serve hot.
