    A tender beef steak is thinly sliced and marinated with soy sauce and lemon juice for at least an hour before being stir fried and served with fried onions.

    Serves: 6 

    • 2kg prime rib steak
    • 1 lemon, juiced
    • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 1 pinch salt and pepper, to taste
    • 1 teaspoon sugar
    • 1 tablespoon cornflour
    • 65ml vegetable oil for frying
    • 3 tablespoons olive oil
    • 1 medium onion, sliced
    • 2 cloves garlic, diced

    1. Slice the beef into 3 chunks. Slice chunks across the grain to make thin pieces. Place in a mixing bowl.
    2. Squeeze lemon juice over the steak then add soy sauce, sugar, salt, pepper and sprinkle with cornflour. Mix completely and marinate 1 hour or longer.
    3. In a large frying pan heat vegetable oil. In batches fry the meat on both sides until cooked to your preference. Set aside on a serving platter.
    4. Saute onion and garlic in olive oil until onion is golden and translucent. Pour over the meat. Serve hot.
