No Bake Chocolate Cake

    This no bake chocolate cake known as a 'Batik Cake' it is named after the exotic Batik designs on their fabrics and sarongs.

    Serves: 8 

    • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
    • 1/2 cup milo powder
    • 1/2 cup (125ml) boiling water
    • 3/4 cup butter
    • 1/2 cup white sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
    • 5 eggs
    • 1 cup condensed milk
    • 250g sweet biscuits

    1. Pour cocoa, milo and boiling water in a saucepan and stir. On low heat add butter, sugar, vanilla, eggs and condensed milk then stir until mixture thickens. It will take about 15 minutes of stirring to get a custard-like consistency.
    2. Break biscuits into quarters and stir into the custard mixture.
    3. Prepare a container, I use 15x15cm square container. You can line the container with baking paper for easy removal.
    4. Pour the mixture into the container and smooth out. Refrigerate for about 3-5 hours but I like to keep it overnight so that the custard sets properly.
    5. Cut into slices and serve.
