Pork is flavoured in a simple marinade before being quickly cooked on your barbecue, perfect for your next family and friends outdoor gathering.


Serves: 10 

  • 2kg pork
  • 1 cup (220g) sugar
  • 1 cup (250ml) soy sauce
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon ground pepper

  1. Soak bamboo skewers in water overnight. This will prevent them from burning when barbecuing.
  2. Slice pork thin to pieces about 4x4 cm.
  3. In a big bowl mix all other ingredients making sure the sugar and salt are completely dissolved.
  4. Add sliced pork to this marinade and let sit for at least 2 hours or more, overnight if possible.
  5. Put pork on skewers. Barbecue on hot coals for about 2 minutes continually turning over the skewers to prevent burning or overcooking.
  6. Serve hot on the skewers.
