This is a wonderful Filipino deep fried banana with jackfruit that can be eaten as a dessert or a snack.


Serves: 10 

  • 3 cooking bananas, sliced crosswise
  • 4 pieces jackfruit, seeded and sliced lengthwise into strips
  • oil for frying
  • Batter
  • 1 1/2 cups (185g) plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup (250ml) water
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 60ml milk
  • 1 large egg, whisked

Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:30min  ›  Ready in:45min 

  1. Mix bananas and jackfruit in a large bowl.
  2. Mix all the batter ingredients until smooth.
  3. Combine the batter with the banana-jackfruit mixture.
  4. Fill a small ladle and pour into hot oil. Fry until brown on both sides.
  5. Serve hot. Sprinkle with sugar if desired.
