Chicken wings are marinated in a strong ginger, garlic, turmeric and honey paste before being deep fried to create a wonderful party finger food.


Serves: 8 

  • 8cm ginger, peeled and coarsely diced
  • 5 cloves garlic, peeled
  • 2 teaspoons turmeric powder
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon honey
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper, to taste
  • 450g chicken wings, cut at the joints
  • 250ml oil, for deep frying

  1. Put ginger and garlic in a blender or mortar and pestle then grind until fine.
  2. Pour into a large mixing bowl then add turmeric, honey, salt and pepper then toss the chicken wings together in the mixture. Leave in refrigerator to marinate for 30 minutes.
  3. Heat oil in wok for deep frying. Fry the chicken wings until cooked. Drain on paper towel then serve.
