Homemade Chilli Sauce

    Homemade sauces are great especially chilli which you can adjust to your preferred taste. This sweet chilli sauce can be used for spring rolls, dim sims or pakoras.

    Serves: 1 

    • 3 shallots, finely diced
    • 2 garlic cloves, finely diced
    • 3 fresh red chillies, deseeded and sliced
    • 1/2 cup (125ml) thin tamarind juice
    • 2 tablespoons sugar
    • 1 teaspoon salt

    1. Sauté the shallots and garlic until fragrant then drain and set aside.
    2. Pound or blend the red chillies to medium coarseness with the sugar.
    3. Mix shallots, garlic and chilli in a bowl adding the tamarind juice, sugar and salt then stir until the sugar is all dissolved.
