This is an admired bread with a thin crisp crust and soft texture. It wins raves from everyone, even those who are not especially bread people. My wife and I are 'breadies' and both prepare a lot of bread recipes and use those of friends from all around the world. Created for a 2 hour (+/-) setting on a bread machine; this is quick, simple and worth it!

Serves: 15 

  • 410ml tepid water
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup
  • 1 - 2 tablespoons milk powder
  • 600g light rye bread mix
  • 2 crushed Hi-Bran Weetbix
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons yeast granules

Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:2hours  ›  Ready in:2hours10min 

  1. Place all ingredients in the bread machine in the manufacturer's recommended order. Cook on the (approx.) 2 hour setting.
