Egg and Ham Quiche

    This is a wonderful quiche using ham, although you could also use bacon. I like to play around with the cheese I use to get different flavours.

    Serves: 6 

    • 1 shortcrust pastry sheet
    • 5 eggs
    • 1 pinch salt and pepper, to taste
    • 1 pinch ground nutmeg, to taste
    • 3 tablespoons thickened cream
    • 200g grated Gruyere or similar cheese
    • 250g cooked ham, diced

    1. Preheat the oven to 210 degrees C. Line a pie dish with the shortcrust pastry.
    2. Whisk the eggs in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Add the nutmeg, cream and grated cheese.
    3. Add the diced ham onto quiche shell then pour the egg and cheese mixture over the ham.
    4. Bake in the oven for 40 minutes or until golden brown.
