Five Ingredient Chocolate Fudge Cake

Not quite a fudge cake yet not quite a brownie; it is a little bit of both. Amazing that such a great tasting cake only has five ingredients.


Serves: 6 

  • 200g dark chocolate with 70% cocoa
  • 200g butter
  • 5 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons plain flour
  • 1 1/2 cups (250g) icing sugar

  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C. Grease a baking dish with butter and add one tablespoon of flour to coat the butter; remove the excess flour from the dish.
  2. Cut the chocolate into pieces then melt it in a double boiler over medium heat. Cut the butter into small pieces and then add to the chocolate.
  3. Remove from the heat and add the eggs one at a time, stirring well after each one.
  4. Add a tablespoon of plain flour and the icing sugar.
  5. Mix gently with a spatula. Pour the batter into the baking dish.
  6. Bake in the oven for 25 minutes.
