Tasty, rustic, moist and delicious! If you grate the onion, this mix makes awesome meatballs and also makes a good meatloaf.
10 Large Patties
1kg beef mince (must have some fat in it)
1 large brown onion
1 large egg
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp basil
1 tsp hot chilli powder
1/2 tsp cumin powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1/4 tsp coriander powder
1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
7 tablespoons (140ml) tomato sauce
6 drops Tabasco sauce
3 cloves garlic
salt and pepper (to taste)
2 cups breadcrumbs (approx)

You can either dice or grate the onion depending on how rustic you like your burgers (I just dice them).
Add the egg, spices, sauces, herbs, garlic, salt and pepper to the onion and mix well.
Add this mixture to the beef mince and mix well -use your hands.., it's messy but it works the best.
Slowly add the breadcrumbs until you have reached the desired texture - the mix should be moist but not stick you your hands.
Place the mix in the fridge for 1/2 an hour to make it easier to mould the burgers (can be in the fridge overnight).
Grab a small handfull at a time and make a ball. Flatten in your hand before placing on a hot BBQ plate
Cook around 5 minutes per side or till done to your liking. Tip
Add more chilli if you like it spicy, this is a mild burger. Trust me.., it's better to make it exactly as above first and then add your own tweaks to evolve it to your perfect recipe
Make into Meatloaf
For the best meatloaf ever.., just make the mix into a loaf, generously cover with tomato sauce and bake in a 200 degree oven for 45 mins. Absolutely delicious!
Moist, flavoursome, and delicious. I ran out of tomato sauce so I just added a tablespoon of tomato paste. My fault. Four large burgers and enough for a meatloaf. How economical is that? Thank You, it's a keeper!

great but I added fine chopped basil and Oregano0 leaves and fine chopped parsely and 1 Hot Chilli in a blender when making the bread crumbs
