Raclette originates in Switzerland and is both a type of cheese and method of grilling it. Today you can buy special grills also with the same name and make it with friends similar to fondue.
250g raclette cheese per person, sliced
3-4 small waxy potatoes per person, boiled in their skins
150g pickled onions
1 pinch freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1 bottle of white wine or 1 pot of tea
- Place all the ingredients on small plates. Place onto the dining table with the raclette grill.
- Serve white wine or black tea.
- Each guest receives a raclette tin. Place the cheese into the small tins and let melt on the lower grill and brown lightly.
- Pour melted cheese onto the plate with a piece of potato. Guests help themselves to other items.
