Side dishes and especially cabbage can be a bit boring but no more. This is a great cabbage side dish with bacon and cream that goes well with any red meat.
2 rashers bacon, finely diced
1 pinch salt and black pepper, to taste
1 pinch nutmeg, to taste
- Heat the butter in a frypan and add the cream, bacon and cabbage then heat everything for a short while. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
- Wash the cabbage, remove the outer leaves and cut into strips.
- Boil the bacon in water briefly and drain them, this makes the bacon milder.
- Briefly boil the cabbage in salt water, shake and dunk in cold water this keeps the cabbage's colour. Dry the cabbage.
