    Side dishes and especially cabbage can be a bit boring but no more. This is a great cabbage side dish with bacon and cream that goes well with any red meat.

    Serves: 4 

    • 1kg cabbage
    • 2 rashers bacon, finely diced
    • 40g butter
    • 50ml cream
    • 1 pinch salt and black pepper, to taste
    • 1 pinch nutmeg, to taste

    1. Heat the butter in a frypan and add the cream, bacon and cabbage then heat everything for a short while. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
    2. Wash the cabbage, remove the outer leaves and cut into strips.
    3. Boil the bacon in water briefly and drain them, this makes the bacon milder.
    4. Briefly boil the cabbage in salt water, shake and dunk in cold water this keeps the cabbage's colour. Dry the cabbage.
