Pizza on a Roll

    My son is now disappointed if we have normal pizza, he wants his on a roll and to be able make it himself and to pick his own toppings.

    Serves: 6 

    • 6 crispy bread rolls
    • 20g butter, for bread
    • Topping
    • 250g cooked ham, finely diced
    • 1 small onion, finely diced
    • 2 tomatoes, finely diced
    • 1 gherkin, finely diced
    • 1 (200g) tin mushrooms, finely diced
    • 2 capsicum, finely diced
    • 250g Swiss cheese, grated
    • 1 pinch pizza herbs, to taste

    Preparation:15min  ›  Cook:10min  ›  Ready in:25min 

    1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees C.
    2. Cut the rolls in half and spread both halves with butter.
    3. Top the rolls evenly with the topping ingredients and sprinkle with the cheese.
    4. Bake in preheated oven for 10-15 minutes.

    I've been making bread roll pizzas for years. The pasta sauce base is a good idea, I will try it next time! I usually spread tomato ketchup onto a roll without butter and add anything else to hand. My favourite method is to put garlic on the base with the ketchup, grated cheddar cheese, crushed chilli flakes and cooked ham.
