Crumble is a great stand-by dessert that can use fresh or tinned fruit. This recipe is a for a combination of blueberries and peaches.


Serves: 8 

  • 2kg ripe peaches, peeled
  • Fruit
  • 500g blueberries
  • 3 tablespoons plain flour
  • 1/3 cup (90g) sugar
  • 3/4 cup (90g) plain flour
  • 90g butter
  • Crumble
  • 3/4 cups (185g) brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch cinnamon, to taste
  • 1 pinch nutmeg, to taste
  • 1/2 cup (60g) rolled oats

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C.
  2. Fruit: Mix the peaches and blueberries with flour and sugar in a large bowl. Place in a buttered baking dish.
  3. Crumble: Rub with your fingers the butter into the flour, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and oats until crumbly.
  4. Spread the crumble on the fruit and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes until it starts to bubble. Serve warm.
