Chicken with Yoghurt and Garlic

This is an easy barbecue chicken recipe with a Lebanese spin. It is superb on its own or can be served with pita, shredded lettuce and tomato.


Serves: 4 

  • 150g natural yoghurt
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper, to taste
  • 1 pinch freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely diced
  • 4 skinless chicken breast fillets

Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Extra time:30min marinating  ›  Ready in:1hour 

  1. Mix the yoghurt, paprika, allspice, cayenne pepper and garlic.
  2. Place chicken pieces in a bowl and pour the marinade over them. Leave for 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat barbecue. Take the chicken out of the marinade and cook until it is dark and crispy, remembering to turn it. Discard the remaining marinade. I always cut a piece open and look to see if it is cooked through (and eat this piece myself).
