Sweet Glazed Carrots

Glazed carrots are a great side dish, even better if you grow them yourself. You can use baby carrots if you want something especially tender.


Serves: 2 

  • 30g butter
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 60ml water
  • 1 pinch salt, to taste
  • 300g carrots, peeled and cut into thick slices
  • 1 sprig parsley, finely diced, to garnish

Preparation:10min  ›  Cook:20min  ›  Ready in:30min 

  1. Melt the butter in a frying pan over a medium heat. Add sugar, stir for a minute and let sugar caramelise. Add water and some salt.
  2. Add the carrots and simmer gently for 20-30 minutes stirring from time to time. If all the water evaporates too quickly add a little more to it.
  3. The carrots are done when they are al dente and almost no water is left in the frying pan. Sprinkle with parsley to serve.
