Fluffy Chocolate Hazelnut Cake

    This is a delicious cake that is really easy to make. The secret ingredient is mineral water which makes it extra fluffy.

    Serves: 1 

    • 5 eggs
    • 2 3/4 cups (375g) caster sugar
    • 1 1/4 cups (125g) drinking chocolate powder
    • 2 1/4 cups (250g) ground hazelnuts
    • 1 cup (125g) flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1 cup (250ml) mineral water
    • 1 cup (250ml) oil
    • 20g butter for greasing

    1. Beat eggs with sugar until fluffy then add the drinking chocolate powder. Stir in the hazelnuts.
    2. Mix the flour and baking powder then mix with the mineral water and oil. Mix in with the chocolate-hazelnut mix. It will look like a soup but that's normal.
    3. Grease a round or ring tin with butter and preheat the oven to about 200 degrees C.
    4. Bake cake in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes. Do a skewer test to ensure cake is done before removing from oven.
